About Us

At Nurturing Haven, we specialise in creating secure and welcoming environments where every child can thrive. Our mission is to deliver personalised care with clinical oversight, ensuring each child’s unique needs are met.

Each young person receives a comprehensive care plan tailored to their specific needs and achievements, which is regularly reviewed and updated with their input. We have ongoing training and development programmes to meet specific children’s needs, with clinical oversight of both staff teams and young people.

We foster positive working relationships with parents, guardians, and extended family members to maximise support for our young people, sharing strategies and agreeing on desired outcomes for consistency.

What We Do

We provide exceptional accommodation and care, designed to feel like a family home. With dedicated, trained staff, we create a space where children can develop positive relationships, build confidence, and enjoy new experiences.

Our homes offer a welcoming environment designed to resemble a typical family home and a dedicated staff extensively trained in implementing restorative practice and PACE.

We embrace a family home atmosphere and incorporate all the comforting elements typically found in a family residence. We offer spacious single occupancy bedrooms that can be personalised to cater to individual needs, and children and young people are supported and encouraged to make their rooms their own.

We prioritise the safety and well-being of the children and young people in our care, ensuring they have a positive and enjoyable experience. To achieve this, we establish boundaries around socially acceptable behavior, creating an environment where they can thrive.

Our staff team recognises that developing positive relationships with children and young people takes time. We believe these relationships will help broaden and enrich the life experiences of young people, enabling them to act appropriately in various social situations, from holidays to building healthy relationships within the community.

The Difference We Can All Make

At Nurturing Haven, we place great importance on improving self-esteem and self-confidence as part of the living experience. We take the time to identify each child’s unique strengths, talents, and interests, and strive to channel them into positive and enjoyable experiences.

Our teams actively encourage children to explore and try various hobbies and activities, which will be reflected in their personalised placement plan. We also encourage young people to make positive contributions within the local community whenever possible. Young people are encouraged to participate in cultural activities that promote awareness and tolerance.

Within the home, we create an environment where each child is encouraged and supported to share their talents and interests, fostering a sense of “family” and belonging.

Careers at Nurturing Haven

Join a supportive team that makes a difference in children’s lives. We offer extensive training, development opportunities, and rewarding career paths.

We are committed to providing staff with the skills they require, through an extensive programme of in-house and external training. Staff training needs are identified through the ongoing process of statutory obligations and the internal processes of supervision, team meetings and appraisals. The admission of a young person with specific care needs might highlight the necessity for additional training as required. All of these needs will be met via the construction and implementation of a comprehensive training package.

We also have a commitment to diploma training and induction standards. In addition to a formal induction to the home, support staff are given a personal development plan, which sets out training needs and opportunities. A training opportunity brochure is produced quarterly, with places booked according to needs and interest. Mandatory training is compulsory and there are rolling programmes to support this need.

Our staff are dedicated to providing a service that encourages the development of children and young people. We also recognize the potential requirement for additional training, which will be addressed by constructing and implementing a comprehensive training package.
